IFC News has engaged a number of anonymous surveyors and researchers to conduct reviews of the following:
- Financial institutions in offshore international financial centres
- Government and regulatory institutions in offshore international financial centres
- Luxury real estate development projects located internationally
The purpose of these reviews is to provide a uniform way of allowing potential clients to have an understanding of the quality, relative professionalism, capacity, and safety of dealing with a particular institution or real estate project as a counterparty.
Our methodology is proprietary however the key performance indicators and data points used to arrive at the rating will be provided in a non-specific manner.
The ratings will be conducted on a rolling basis with each institution and new project being re-evaluated annually.
Where the IFC News methodology differs from other rating agencies is that we look beyond credit worthiness and mere ability to repay; we look at operational and service related factors; we are not compensated to perform the rating.
The rating results which is based on a scored system will be listed along side the institution’s particulars in the IFC News Directory, which also allows individual visitors and clients to lodge an evaluation of the listed firm.

Enhanced Verification End-users would like to know the level of confidence of a rating. This can only be enhanced with the active participation of the firm that has been rated. At their option the Enhanced Verification fee enables IFC News to conduct enhanced due diligence on the reviewed firm including a review of the physical documentation and factors that would used in preparing a rating. Firms that have had an enhanced rating will be so noted thus providing the end-user with a higher level of confidence. |

Accelerated or Re-Review Perhaps a material change has occurred since the last review that may materially impact the previous review score. Reviewed firms can therefore request and accelerated or re-review in order to accommodate the firm’s updated status. |
